Portraits
There’s nothing in the world like looking at the face of another human. It is such an overtly everyday occurence that most of us don’t marvel at the wonder of faces, their intricacies and impossible uniqueness. Out of 9 million different species on our planet, there is no species like our own and certainly the most photographed representationally. We love to see and relfect on ourselves over and over again.
Portaits can hold the depths of our emotion and express ineffable secrets in a millionth of a second. Vulnerable, powerful, sensitive and fleeting. From moment to moment they represent the essence of who we are in the totality of our lives as they, and we, change over time. Whether performative and aware or caught in a moment of authenticity, there is a certain enigmatic and simultaneously known ‘something’ to be digested in one form or another, in the deep layering of the conscious and subconscious mind.
